Reinis Znotiņš

Latvia

(Term November 2017- July 2018) I would characterize myself as a startup mentality person, who is ready to move fast and change the status quo, but in the same time stand firm with my both legs on the ground. Also I’m a person who wears several hats. I have my own business and I’m actively involved in NGO sector.

I spent my BAFF year at Seattle, WA where I was a part of four people team that developed and organized more than forty startup pre-acceleration events a year, all around the globe. At Techstars I had a chance to travel around United States and understand how startup businesses work and how investments are done. During my time at Techstars, I met and helped Latvian startup team called Anatomy Next on their first steps, eventually ending up as Chief Operations Officer for the startup and raised a half of million Euros in funding for the company.

Now I’ve co-founded a company called Your Move, which connects internationally experienced professionals with companies in Latvia that appreciates such experience. At Your Move we believe that smart, internationally experienced and educated Latvians can make a significant difference in Latvia’s economy and culture.
A year and a half ago, together with like-minded people with international experience, we established an NGO called “Ar Pasules Pieredzi Latvijā” (Global Latvians), which has now grown into an organization with 3 thousand followers and is actively taking part in different remigration initiatives like new “Diaspora law”, where we’re among parties drafting the new law.

After returning to Estonia Robert continued to consult Elegran in SEM and does it up to date.

His academic background started with Bachelor studies in Tallinn University where he studied Marketing and Advertising and continued his academic studies on Master’s level in Copenhagen Business School where he was involved in a 2-year program called Organisational Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
